Color Smart is looking for partners to expand into six new cities in 2023

With an investment of 40,000 euros, Color Smart collaborators can achieve a 120,000 euro business, from just the second year of activity

Color Smart Distribution, sole importer and distributor in Romania and the Republic of Moldova of premium and premium plus brands Novacolor, Color Smart and Pittsburgh Paints, is continuing its development and is looking for partners for expansion with dedicated showrooms in six new cities in 2023. Iași, Suceava, Petroșani, Târgu Jiu, Târgu Mureș and Covasna are the main cities being targeted by the Romanian company.

“Our strategy for 2023 also includes expanding the distribution system with dedicated showrooms in cities where we are not yet present. Since the beginning of 2022, we have had sustained campaigns to find qualified partners in the big cities in Romania. In the first 6 months of 2022, we opened partner stores in Sibiu, Alba-Iulia, and Brașov. In the summer we signed a new contract for the Brăila – Galați area, a store that will open by the end of the year. We want to continue the expansion and bring the products from the Color Smart portfolio to other cities in the country, and conclude collaborations in the Moldova area – Iași, Suceava, in Hunedoara – Petroșani – Târgu Jiu area and in Transylvania – Târgu Mureș, Covasna”, said Cătălina Trupșor, CEO and founder of Color Smart.

The investment that a future Color Smart partner should budget for is approximately 35,000-40,000 euros. This involves setting up a dedicated showroom of at least 100 sqm, decorated according to the renderings made by one of the architects with whom Color Smart collaborates, an initial stock of goods and necessary materials.

Sales of partners can reach up to 120,000 euros from the second year of activity, depending on how they implement the recommendations offered by Color Smart during the training sessions that the company offers.

“In the first year of activity of the partner showrooms, we are basically talking about an acclimatization period, in which they position themselves on the market through the unique value of the products and services they offer. During this period, we encourage them to create and strengthen their communities of architects, designers, applicators, and of course the end consumer. Color Smart offers all partners support and assistance throughout the entire period of activity. From product, sales, and logistics training to the promotion strategy in social media and the implementation of marketing campaigns, we are with our partners and guide them every step of the way. If they follow our recommendations, sales can reach up to 120,000 euros in the second year of activity”, explained Cătălina Trupșor.

To become a Color Smart partner, you need a coherent business plan for a period of 2-5 years, with a well-defined strategy, but also knowledge about the competition and the market. Business expertise is also an important point that Color Smart takes into account.

Before the official opening of the showroom, Color Smart provides partners with an induction plan of about 4 months in which collaborators go through all the important development stages, so that they can open the store successfully, and have a team ready to sell from the beginning.

All decorative and washable materials for decorating the new partner’s space are provided by Color Smart. At the same time, they receive a complete set, consisting of 35 catalogs and palettes that are part of the sales support materials, together with one of the pigmenting machines, which remains in their custody during the collaboration.

Color Smart recommends partners work from the beginning with IT systems: ERP, and CRM, to allocate a budget for marketing campaigns and the purchase of sales support materials.

Through the expansion strategy, Color Smart aims to be closer to the specialists and customers who need support throughout the projects. This will contribute to the improvement of services, and delivery times, but also to the creation of optimal conditions for choosing the colors or textures necessary for a dream interior design.

Currently, Color Smart has its own locations in Bucharest, Constanța, and Timișoara, as well as a network of 12 distributors nationwide: Cluj, Oradea, Craiova, Arad, Sibiu, Alba-Iulia, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Ploiesti, Focșani, Bacau, Piatra Neamt, Brasov. The company is also present in 9 profile warehouses in the country.

In the Color Smart portfolio, there is a wide range of services that can be purchased by customers, from materials and accessories, to consulting services or to turnkey projects carried out with its teams of applicators.
