The government is set to approve on Thursday the last budget revision this year, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca announced, stressing that an additional amount of about 500 million RON will be earmarked for fulfilling commitments under European projects, paying salary rights and social benefits, as well as for drought damage compensations.
“Yesterday we had an analysis that resulted in the completion of the draft for everything related to the new budget revision, which is also the last this year. The draft was put up for public debate. What is noteworthy is that this is about a budget adjustment of approximately 500 million RON, and this way we ensured the redistribution of the money, so that each ministry be able to fulfill all commitments under European projects and also everything related to salary rights and social benefits; at the same time, we also have in view securing the necessary funds for drought damage compensations. (…) We will adopt the budget revision at tomorrow’s government meeting (Thursday – ed. note), most likely at 11:00 a.m., depending on the completion of the procedures,” Nicolae Ciuca said on Wednesday at the beginning of the government meeting.
He specified that the latest figures on the economy are gratifying and there are no elements to foreshadow an economic recession.
The Prime Minister added that prudence, balance and measures to support investments are further needed.
