Romania started the winter period with over 3 billion cubic meters of gas in storage, all the necessary measures being implemented so that end consumers do not have problems in the supply of energy and natural gas, regardless of the temperature, said Dan Dragan, secretary of state in the Ministry of Energy, at the debate “How will this winter be for the Romanian energy consumer and what role could Romania play in the region’s energy?”.
At the same time, the secretary of state added that during the Winter Command, preparations were made regarding the stocks for the production of electricity, but also regarding the coal and the volumes of water stored in the lakes.
Dragan also said that with regard to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the call for projects for high-efficiency cogeneration for urban thermal power was launched, allocating 300 million euros.

According to the secretary of state, as far as the Modernization Fund is concerned, a call for projects to strengthen the distribution network is underway.
“The total value of this scheme is over 1.1 billion euros. I would also like to specify that we had a public debate and calls for projects for producers, for self-consumption will be launched in the first part of next year, and here I would refer to the local authorities who will benefit from approximately half a billion euros and the industrial self-consumers, who will have a similar amount, of almost 500 million euros,” Dan Dragan assessed.
At the same time, a call for projects will be launched for independent producers of energy from renewable sources, and its value will be approximately 500 million euros.
