PM Ciuca: We will approve investments in road safety based on an agreement with EIB worth 50 M euros

The government will adopt, on Wednesday, through a draft law, a financing agreement concluded with the European Investment Bank (EIB), based on which investments will be made in road safety projects in 89 localities, stated Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca.

“Taking into account the problems we have in terms of road safety, today we have a very important decision that refers to the financing of investments in road safety. It is about a draft law by which we approve the financing agreement between Romania and the European Investment Bank. We are talking about a project worth 50 million euros, with investments to target 89 localities,” said Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca during the government meeting.


Government, set to facilitate promotion of tourism services and products on external markets


The government is set to approve a memorandum regarding the settlement of some of the expenses generated by tour operators’ participation in international tourism fairs, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca informs on Wednesday.

“We will approve a memorandum through which we will facilitate the promotion of tourism products and services on foreign markets having Romania as destination. In this way, we will ensure the settlement of a significant part of the expenses generated by the tour operators’ participation in tourism fairs,” stated Nicolae Ciuca, on Wednesday, during the government meeting.

In this context, he underscored that it is necessary to strengthen the dialogue with HORECA representatives and the industry in general.

“And let’s continue to see how we will succeed in supporting and consolidating this resource of our country, which has a potential that has not yet been exploited to its true value,” added Ciuca, according to Agerpres.


State aid scheme for construction of tires factory in Oradea


The Government will approve a state aid scheme worth approximately 100 million EUR for the construction of a a tires factory in Oradea, Bihor county, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca announced on Wednesday.

“We will approve, through a memorandum – a state aid scheme worth approximately 100 million EUR for what means a new tires factory in Oradea, a factory which will have a very high production capacity and which will also ensure jobs for the citizens the Bihor county,” Nicolae Ciuca stated within the Gov’t meeting.

The state aid was requested by the Finnish company Nokian Tyres PLC for the construction of a new tires production factory in Oradea.
