The Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE) is launching on Monday, February 6, the call for the settlement of the expenses incurred in order to support refugees, the budget from European funds being 100 million EUR, the institution announced on Friday, in a press release submitted to AGERPRES.
The amount of the support is 100 EUR/week, for a maximum of 26 weeks.
According to MIPE, the non-competitive call “Support for Ukrainian citizens, foreigners or stateless persons who come from the armed conflict zone in Ukraine” is financed by the Human Capital Operational Program for the settlement of expenses incurred by the Romanian state to support refugees from military conflict zone in Ukraine.
MIPE specifies that the support measures granted by the Romanian state to refugees entering Romania through the border points with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, be they Ukrainian citizens, foreigners or stateless persons, are financed on a unit cost basis, to cover immediate basic needs.
According to the quoted source, the expenses will be paid to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, based on the lists of foreign and stateless citizens for whom this support is granted.
The Government provided, through an emergency ordinance adopted last year, the settlement mechanism from European funds for certain expenses regarding the support of refugees from Ukraine, through the Human Capital Operational Program (POCU). For this purpose, a new Priority Axis – AP9, with a value of 100 million EUR, was created within the POCU.
The total value of the scheme is 118 million EUR, of which 100 million EUR is provided by the European Social Fund, and the difference from the state budget.
