President Iohannis, PM Ciuca send messages on Day of Hungarians Everywhere: Centuries of cohabitation have made us understand the benefits of coexistence

President Klaus Iohannis sent a message  on Wednesday to the Romanian citizens of Hungarian ethnicity in which he shows that centuries of cohabitation led to the understanding of the benefits of coexistence and intercultural dialogue.

“On the occasion of the day when Hungarians everywhere celebrate their belonging to a common space of identity, culture and history, I convey to the Romanian citizens of Hungarian ethnicity the warmest wishes for health and prosperity. This festive day gives me the opportunity to emphasize once again the significant participation of the Hungarians in Romania in our common projects, as well as their important contribution, together with the other national minorities, to the development of the Romanian society and to the consolidation of our European path,” the head of state said in a message sent to AGERPRES by the Presidential Administration.

President Iohannis showed that 15 March, like every year, represents “a good opportunity to make known the values and traditions that have enriched the European culture.”

“Centuries of cohabitation have made us understand the benefits of coexistence and intercultural dialogue. The three decades since the Revolution of December 1989 prove how, through dialogue, knowledge and mutual respect, Romanian citizens, regardless of their mother tongue, can build a prosperous and dignified country together. May today’s celebration give you confidence and new energies, bring light to your souls, joy and hope in the community!,” he concluded.
