DefMin Tilvar participates in the meeting of EU defence ministers within the Foreign Affairs Council
The Minister of National Defence, Angel Tilvar, will participate on Tuesday, in Brussels, in the meeting of the defence minister from the EU member states within the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC), and in the meeting of the Steering Committee of the European Defense Agency ( EDA).
According to a press release of the MApN, the main topic at the FAC will be the EU support for Ukraine, as well as the recent initiatives regarding joint acquisitions in the field of defence and aimed at revitalizing the industrial capacities of the member states.
Also, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, will present the latest developments regarding the EU’s operational commitments, the progress of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) initiative, as well as the lessons learned from the experience in Sudan.
During a working lunch, in which the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, will also participate, the high-ranked officials will also discuss issues regarding the EU-NATO cooperation on different levels, especially from the perspective of ensuring a common response to the challenges of the current security environment.
