HiSky introduces Timisoara – Tel Aviv route

At the end of August, the list of regular direct routes available from Traian Vuia airport in TimiČ™oara will be extended with one more international destination. Residents of western Romania will be able to travel with HiSky to Tel Aviv, Israel thus becoming the sixth country accessible by a direct flight from this airport. The TimiČ™oara – Tel Aviv – TimiČ™oara route will be operated by the airline starting from the autumn season, with the inaugural flight to Israel’s main international airport, Ben Gurion, being scheduled for August 31st, 2023.

According to the launch offer, published on the company’s website, the price of a TimiČ™oara – Tel Aviv one-way trip, tax included, starts at 49.99 euro. The flight schedule includes two weekly frequencies, every Monday and Thursday: Tel Aviv (TLV) 14:25 – 17:35 Timisoara (TSR), Timisoara (TSR) 18:35 – 21:25 Tel Aviv (TLV).

Tel Aviv is the second destination HiSky chooses to open from the TimiČ™oara airport, after the domestic route Bucharest – TimiČ™oara, already operated with six weekly frequencies since May of last year.

“We are a growing company and therefore we are careful to do our homework before opening a new route. The first step we took in Timisoara was to connect it better, i.e. cheaper and more comfortably, to the capital and the Otopeni hub. We managed, in the last year, to consolidate this route, with six frequencies per week. We are now at a point where, with the expansion of the fleet, we can continue to develop this airport. We chose Tel Aviv as our first international route, a destination that we already operate successfully from Bucharest, Cluj and Chisinau. From the experience so far, at other airports, but also from the preliminary studies we did, we are sure that the people of Timisoara were also waiting for this direct connection with Israel, both for cultural, religious, holiday or city break tourism, as well as for traffic business. In addition, we hope that our flights will not only serve as a way of departure to Tel Aviv, but also as one that will bring Israeli tourists and entrepreneurs to Romania, especially in the context of the cultural events taking place this year in the city.”, Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HiSky.

HiSky operates direct international flights from Romania departing from the airports of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi and Baia Mare to Barcelona, Malaga, Tel Aviv, Brussels, Paris and Dublin. From the Republic of Moldova, passengers can travel with HiSky to eight foreign destinations: Milan, Paris, Dublin, Frankfurt, Tel Aviv, Rome, Bologna and Venice.

After acquiring two state-of-the-art Airbus A321 LR aircraft in the spring of this year, the company reached a total of seven aircraft operated on regular and charter flights. In April, HiSky reached the threshold of one million passengers transported.
